Kathmandu, July 16, 2025 — The Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) National Campaign has officially submitted the child-centric Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report for the 4th cycle to the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner. This marks CZOP’s continued commitment to advocating for the rights and protection of children in Nepal, building on its previous submissions during UPR Cycle.
In preparation for this important submission, CZOP organized a validation workshop on July 9, 2025, bringing together key stakeholders engaged in the child rights movement across the country. The workshop served as a collaborative platform to ensure the report reflects ground realities and incorporates diverse voices from the sector.

Following the validation process, a recommendation-sharing event was held on July 15, 2025, in Kathmandu, where the finalized report and its key recommendations were presented to Save the Children, World Vision International, GSIF, Plan International, NGO Federation, NACG, Consortium Nepal, Youth Alliance for Environment, and the Blue Diamond Society. Meena Sharma, President of CZOP, expressed heartfelt thanks to all development partners, CZOP member organizations, and various child rights networks who directly and indirectly contributed to the process.

The report highlights pressing child rights issues in Nepal and offers concrete, actionable recommendations to the government and international community to improve the protection, participation, and overall well-being of children. By engaging a broad network of civil society organizations and advocates, CZOP ensures that the concerns and voices of children remain central to human rights discussions at both national and global levels.
