Kathmandu, May 23, 2026. A validation workshop was held in Kathmandu on the study titled “Study on the Impact on Children During the Eviction of Informal Settlement Communities” under the coordination of Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) National Campaign.

The workshop focused on validating findings related to the condition of children affected by the eviction of informal settlement communities in Kathmandu and other areas. The study highlighted that displaced children are currently facing serious challenges in education, safety, health, protection, and psychosocial well-being after being removed from their settlements.

Participants discussed the urgent need for child-sensitive and humane approaches during eviction processes, along with stronger rehabilitation and protection mechanisms to safeguard children’s rights. The findings emphasized that displacement has created both immediate and long-term impacts on children’s overall development and well-being.

Representatives from multiple organizations participated in the workshop, including INSEC, Care Nepal, Shree Sathi Nepal, Nepal Mahila Ekata Samaj, JCYCN, SPCSN, CDS, NCPA, KIDARC, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and GNB-Nepal.
