Parliamentary Forum for Child Rights Formed in Gandaki Province

Gandaki Province, May 25, 2025 — A significant step toward championing child rights was taken in Gandaki Province with the successful formation of the Parliamentary Forum for Child Rights. The formation took place in the presence of the Deputy Speaker of the Gandaki Province Assembly, Hon. Bina Kumari Thapa along with 19 Provincial Assembly members.
The newly established forum comprises representatives from all political parties represented in the Gandaki Province Assembly, ensuring inclusive and collective advocacy for child and youth issues. A total of nine members were selected to form the committee:

Hon. Sushila Simkhada

This committee will actively raise concerns and promote policies related child rights within the province assembly and other relevant platforms.
The initiative is part of a broader national movement to prioritize child rights, with similar committees already formed and operational across all provinces of the country. The Children as Zones of Peace(CZOP) National Campaign has played a crucial coordinating role in facilitating the formation of these forums both at the federal and provincial levels.
