Discussion Program on the Role of Parliamentary Forum for Child Rights Concludes Successfully

Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu – June 14, 2025
A two-day discussion program on “The Role of the Parliamentary Forum for Child Rights” was successfully organized by the Children as Zones of Peace National Campaign (CZOP) with support from Save the Children. The event took place on June 14–15 in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.

The program was chaired by Hon. Sita Kumari Rana, the Coordinator of the Parliamentary Forum for Child Rights. Distinguished Members of Parliament including Hon. Ishwori Gharti Magar, Hon. Kalpana Miya, Hon. Shanti Shrestha, Hon. Binita Singh, Hon. Harkamaya BK, Hon. Pushpa Bahadur Shah, and Hon. Bina Lama actively participated in the discussions.
The sessions were facilitated by child rights experts and advocates including Tarak Dhital, Rajesh Sharma, Dr. Rojanath Pandey (Secretary, Parliament Secretariat), and Ishan Sharma, among others.
From CZOP’s central committee, Chairperson Mina Sharma, General Secretary Tilottama Paudel, Member Raju Ghimire, and secretariat team members were present and engaged throughout the event.
The program provided a meaningful platform for parliamentarians, child rights defenders, and stakeholders to collaborate and reaffirm their commitment to advancing children’s rights in Nepal through effective policy dialogue and parliamentary engagement.
