CZOP Participates in National Consultation on Nepal’s Fourth UPR Report

Kathmandu, August 21, 2025 (Bhadra 5, 2082) — Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) National Campaign actively participated in a national-level interaction program organized by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) on the occasion of preparing Nepal’s Fourth Cycle Universal Periodic Review (UPR) National Report on Human Rights.

The event, held with the presence of senior government officials including the Secretary of the OPMCM, saw participation from a range of civil society organizations (CSOs), highlighting the collaborative spirit in advancing human rights in Nepal.
CZOP was represented institutionally by Immediate Past Chairperson Ms. Meena Sharma and Current Chairperson Mr. Tilottam Paudel. During the discussion, CZOP shared key perspectives on the state’s responsibility and necessary investment in the protection and promotion of child rights in Nepal. CZOP has already submitted the Child Centric UPR report for the Fourth Cycle Universal Periodic Review (UPR) National Report on Human Rights.
CZOP expressed its sincere appreciation to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers for hosting this timely and inclusive dialogue. CZOP reaffirmed its commitment to working in partnership with government and civil society actors to ensure that child rights remain a central priority in Nepal’s human rights agenda.
