CZOP Participates in Grand Human Rights Rally on the Occasion of the 77th International Human Rights Day

Kathmandu, 10 December 2025 — With the core slogan “Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials” , a grand human rights rally was organized today on the occasion of the 77th International Human Rights Day.

The rally commenced from Lalit Mandal, Jawalakhel, and concluded at the office of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), where a formal program was subsequently held. The event witnessed the active participation of civil society organizations, human rights defenders, youth groups, and stakeholders from across the country.

Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) National Campaign, along with representatives from several CZOP member organizations, took part in the rally, demonstrating collective solidarity and commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights, especially the rights of children.

The formal program was graced by the Rt. Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal, Ms. Sushila Karki, as the Chief Guest, alongside representatives from constitutional bodies, civil society, and human rights organizations. The speakers highlighted the importance of safeguarding fundamental freedoms, strengthening democratic values, and ensuring justice, equality, and dignity for all.

Through its participation, CZOP reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for child rights, peace, and human rights, and emphasized the importance of collective action in building an inclusive and rights-respecting society.
