Kathmandu, Nepal – Children as Zones of Peace (CZOP) National campaign successfully organized an Inter-Provincial Dialogue and Learning Exchange Program on Child Rights on 1st and 2nd August 2025 (2082 Shrawan 16–17) in Kathmandu.
The event marked a significant step in strengthening the commitment towards child rights at both federal and provincial levels. Under CZOP’s coordination, Parliamentary Forums for Child Rights have been established at the federal level and across all seven provinces of Nepal.
The program brought together a diverse group of participants, including coordinators of provincial Parliamentary Forums, Chairpersons of the Social Development Committees from all seven provinces, federal forum members, CZOP board members, and representatives from development partner organizations.
During the event, participating parliamentarians expressed a strong commitment to raising child-related issues in parliament and influencing national and provincial policy-making processes. They also shared progress and initiatives undertaken in their respective provinces to promote and protect child rights.
Speaking at the event, CZOP Chairperson Ms. Mina Sharma emphasized the importance of the parliamentary forums, stating, “These platforms are crucial in facilitating discussions, raising key child-related issues, and ensuring responsive action at the policy level.”
The program served as a vital space for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and reaffirming collective responsibility toward creating a child-friendly and safe Nepal.
